My name is Jeannie Maddox and I have been the School Counselor at George Marks Elementary for 19 years and counseling in DeLand schools for 29 years. I received an undergraduate degree from Florida State University and a Masters of Education in School Counseling from Stetson University.
I am a National Board Certified Teacher in School Counseling, a member of the American School Counselor Association, the Florida School Counselor Association and the Volusia School Counselor Association where I am a board member serving as the New Counselor Coordinator and President Elect, I have served as a School Counselor intern supervisor and will be hosting an intern again during the Spring semester.
I love listening to and talking with children, teachers, and parents. I enjoy working with students one on one, teaching them in the classroom, and watching them get excited about the new skills they are practicing and learning. I have been married for 31 years and have 2 grown children. My daughter lives and works in New Zeland and my son just graduated from the University of North Florida and lives in Jacksonville. My interests include exercising, traveling, taking photographs, learning about technology, researching family geneology, and spending time playing board games and card games with my family.
